Formed in 2003 from the smoldering ashes of Granulosum and Zahgurim, Krieghetzer started another project called Schlachtruf. Not much came of it and soon went idle. Ronan and Krieghetzer joined up to create Wulfhere and soon after recorded the "Rising Tides" Promo. Not doing more than dreaming of becoming a Rock Star, writing minimal lyrics and singing on a mere 5 tracks, Ronan later disappeared to persue his writing dreams...

Now, with much more too look forward to and no one to hold me back, I will continue to work on more Propaganda and music. Thus far, Wulfhere is progessing quickly and is not ready to sit back and wait for a free ride. There is always more work to be done. Nothing can stand in the way of Aryan Will and Discipline!

Nordisches Blut is Vargsang (Vargsang / ex-Graven) doing a heavily Graveland or Viking-era Bathory inspired record. Of course this means mostly slow to mid-tempo songs with very raw guitars, anthemic yet minimalist keyboards, booming war-drums and raspy vocals all the way through. As with his main band, Vargsang (who goes by the name of Von List here) still is no innovator, but offers a mixture that borrows elements here and there, enriches them with his own ideas and combines them in a way that achieves surprisingly convincing results. The sound is fairly necro and totally unpolished, and could be considered a somewhat rawer version of earlier Graveland days, circa _Thousand Swords_. Fortunately the major part of the album avoids folkish themes, which greatly helps to stylistically separate this German project from the Poles to a certain extent. Those familiar with either Graven or Vargsang will also be able to easily recognize the vocals, as well as some of the guitar work. For an album in this specific genre it's quite refreshing that all the songs remain at a length which is still easy to digest and does not drag on forevermore to appear more epic. Together with the fairly diverse and memorable song material, Our Banners Will Rise is a truly enjoyable album, which, no matter how much Nordisches Blut owe to the sound pioneered by Darken and Capricornus, makes this album far more enjoyable for me than the viscous The Fire of Awakening.

Absolutely the best Burzum cd. The ambience Varg Vikernes creates is unmatched in black metal. "Dunkelheit" is a sonic exploration into subtle riff changes and guitar tones. In my opinion,one of the best black metal songs in ever recorded. Varg's vocals sound incredibly tortured and tormented, but are perfect in contrast with the layered guitar riffs. You almost feel as if you are in the dark woods of Norway when listening to this cd. While the first four songs on the cd are true black metal songs, the last two are more along the lines of the Burzum-Hlidskjalf cd. They are ambient soundscapes of various keyboard lines that create an eerie, mellow effect that leaves the listener wondering through the dark woods of their own mind. The production on the cd is below standard compared the the production we are used to today, but any change in the production would completely destroy the feel of the cd. I would consider this cd to be a top ten black metal cd of all time. Highly Recommended!!

Alle Texte in deutsch und im 16-seitigem Booklet nachzulesen. Gespielt wird ein Mix aus Viking Metal und Metal. Der Stil läßt sich schwer zuordnen, da viele Elemente mit einfließen. Die Texte werden von einer tiefen Männerstimme und einer schönen Frauenstimme vorgetragen. Die Frauenstimme sucht in der nationalen Musikwelt ihres gleichen. Nicht die CD des Jahres, keine 1000 %ige Steigerung, sondern eine sehr gelungene CD. Die Mitglieder der Band haben vorher schon in anderen RAC Bands gespielt und bei der Frauenstimme handelt es sich um eine ausgebildete Sängerin. Alles in allem sehr gelungene CD.
